Progress in twilight colours

Now that I have started work with these shades I find that they remind me of twilight - you know that gorgeous lavender time of day - when the sun has set and the dark is still a little way off. It seems that shadows are a beautiful magical shade of lavender grey.

I just love it - I think Autumn is a good time for witnessing this.

When the light is golden and and hard edges disappear.

Colours to Challenge

As most of you will know I am generally driven by the bright colours in the spectrum.

For a challenge I have decided to concentrate on a more subtle palette and see where it takes me. I was beinning to think that those brights were who I am as an artist and certainly they act as a magnet. BUT you can almost preclude yourself from a particular set of shades.

So this week I endeavoured to OVERCOME it!

Here are the colours - there is a selection of grey, gold, cinnamon and lavender - you can also see a few bits of cut up knitwear that I ill be adding. Heaven knows what I will do with it!

Long Overdue Post!

I am remarkably tardy in keeping up with this blog. I am really sorry to those of you who have actually logged in to see if I have got my act together.
From hereon I will attempt to stick to a weekly post!

Earlier this year I was very lucky to have an article printed in Cloth Paper Scissors - I was absolutely staggered to discover that I had been selected on the cover as well!

It is amazing how you plug away at your craft for years and then such a lucky and delightful thing comes along like this!
